Payment and Refunds

Enroll with Confidence:   Freedom Financial Institute, Inc. is committed to the health and safety of our students.  In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), we are offering our students additional flexibility to reschedule classes and in-person exams.  Specifically, we are waiving rescheduling fees. 

What is the school's policy regarding payment and refunds?

All course enrollments require pre-payment and are non-refundable. Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily waiving rescheduling fees.

In addition, Freedom Financial Institute is not responsible for any late fees, charges or other amounts incurred by students to licensing authorities or any other third parties.

Course tuition and any applicable fees are subject to change without notice.

In addition to the school's tuition, am I required to pay any fees when completing courses?

No, there are no additional fees charged by Freedom Financial Institute.

Are there are any additional fees I need to pay to obtain my license?

Yes, students are required to pay additional fees to obtain their license from the NMLS.

Students are required to pass a licensing examination (at an approved testing center, such as Prometric Testing Center) after successfully completing the pre-license program. The pre-license program consist of classes and exams. Any related fees are paid directly to the appropriate exam provider and are not included in our course tuition.

Students are required to pay fees when applying for or renewing a license. Any such fees are paid directly to Nationwide Multi-Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and are not included in our course tuition.

Annual Renewal Process

What do I need to do to renew my license?

For additional questions about the renewal process in NMLS, please contact the NMLS Call Center at 855-665-7123. The Call Center hours are 9:00am-9:00pm ET.

The NMLS Call Center volume is at its highest level during the renewal period. If you need assistance completing your renewal request, the best times to call are early in the morning (9:00-10:00am ET) and in the evening (after 5:00pm ET).

Course Expirations

Do course registrations expire?

All courses expire six months after the date of enrollment. In some cases, expired pre-license course enrollments may be extended for a fee. Please contact us for additional information.


Course Transfers & Exchanges

Can I transfer my course registration to another student?

Students may transfer non-expired course enrollments to another student:

  • For online and correspondence programs, students may call and request a transfer before submitting coursework and/or examinations to the school for review and grading.

  • For classroom/webinar programs, students may call and request a transfer before attending the scheduled class/webinar. The transfer must be requested at least four business days in advance of the scheduled class.

Can I exchange my course for a different course?

Students may exchange non-expired course enrollments for other courses of equal or lesser value. When doing so, the student must return any course materials provided as part of the original enrollment. Materials must be returned to the school in "like new" condition. If the original course materials are not returned, the student may incur a fee.

  • For online and correspondence programs, students may call and request an exchange before submitting coursework and/or examinations to the school for review and grading.

  • For classroom/webinar programs, students may call and request an exchange before attending the scheduled class.


Attendance To receive credit for state-approved courses, students must attend scheduled courses for all days and times. No absences, tardies, or early departures are allowed.

Rescheduling, Late Arrival, & Early Departure

We recognize that our students sometimes experience unforeseen schedule conflicts after enrolling in a class. Our policies vary for different types of programs. Class rescheduling requests are only accepted by phone. See below or call us for additional information.

Mortgage - Freedom Financial Institute Classes/ Webinars

  • Rescheduling More Than 4 Business Days In Advance of Class/Webinar:  Students may reschedule at no charge, subject to availability.

  • Rescheduling Within 4 Business Days of Class/Webinar:  Rescheduling requests received by phone with less than 4 business days in advance of the scheduled class/webinar are subject to a $50.00 fee.

  • Failure to Attend (No Show):  Students who do not attend a scheduled class/webinar will be subject to a $50.00 rescheduling fee, subject to availability.

  • Late Arrival:  Late arrivals are not permitted for Freedom Financial Institute mortgage classes/webinars. We recommend that students plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled class/webinar time. Students who do not arrive for class/webinar on time will not be admitted. Students may reschedule for a later date, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests will be subject to a $50.00 fee.

  • Early Departure:  Early departure is not permitted for Freedom Financial Institute mortgage classes/webinars. Students who are unable to remain for the duration of a scheduled class/webinar will not receive credit for attendance. Students are permitted to reschedule attendance for the entire class at a later date, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests will be subject to a $50.00 fee.
